'Some', 'Any', and 'No Article'

Can I have a banana? [One banana, however anybody is okay.]
- Can I have some bananas? [Multiple banana, however any small group is okay.]


The difference between some and 'no article':


- Can you purchase some milk? [We do not know exactly how much, but I am speaking about a sure quantity of milk - I don't desire all of the milk in the world.]


- We want Ø milk to make pancakes. [I'm excited about milk as a class. I am not thinking about a sure amount of milk.]


- We'd like to purchase Ø espresso [I'm speaking about espresso as a category, not serious about the amount].

- Would you like some espresso? [I imply a sure quantity of coffee, most likely a cup.]

- I ate some bread [I imply a certain amount of bread].

- I ate Ø bread [not pasta or rice].


- Would you like Ø tea? [I'm not occupied with the quantity.]

- Would you like some tea? [I am fascinated about the amount, however the that means is actually the same as the primary sentence.]


The distinction between some and any:


- She bought some tomatoes [positive sentence].
- She didn't buy any tomatoes [detrimental sentence].
- Did she purchase any tomatoes [query]?


- You may take any bus.

- Pass me any glass.

- Come over any Sunday.


- She by no means eats any fruit.

- We hardly watch any television.

- Julia left the home without any cash.
