He Borrows Cash from His Sister

Prepositions are used in many alternative ways in English - perhaps that's why a lot of people have issues with them.


First, they're used with time phrases:


on Monday
within the twentieth century
at evening


Second, they're used to point out where something or somebody is:


- The plate is on the table.
- Julie is in the garden.
- The picture is on the wall.

- She is nice at tennis.
- Scotland is well-known for whisky
- I'm fearful about my new job.


Fourth, they're used after some verbs:


- I'm listening to music.
- She is ready for her buddy.
- He borrows cash from his sister.


Fifth, they're used after some nouns:


- She has bother with remembering new vocabulary.


Finally, they're used in sure phrases:


- The bus arrived in the long run.
- She arrived simply in time for the film.
